Press Conference Advisory

You are invited to attend a press conference hosted by DLNR beginning at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 9, 2006 at the DLNR offices – Kalanimoku Building, 1151 Punchbowl, Room 130.

Peter Young, DLNR Chairperson, will provide details on DLNR's unprecedented budget request of $92-million being proposed to the coming Legislature.

Items to be discussed:
1- Innovative enforcement program to keep parks and harbors safe
2- Increased funding to keep our state parks clean
3- Support for environmental education programs across the state
4- Work toward identification of instream flow standards
5- Increased protection of Hawaii's watersheds and aquatic resources
6- Unprecedented levels of CIP funding
