| LIHU‘E — The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) this week begins construction work at Koke‘e State Park on improvements at Kalalau lookout, Puu O Kila lookout, the park headquarters, Koke‘e Lodge and Museum, the picnic pavilion, camping site A, Kukui cabin #8, and the CCC Camp. “The park will remain open during construction, and lodging will be available for public use. However we will need to close the camping area while work is being done at that comfort station,” said DLNR chairperson Peter Young. "These improvements are part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration's ongoing efforts to upgrade our state parks and to ensure the safety and comfort of all residents and visitors who use the parks," said Young. The contractor, Primatech Construction, Inc., will start these construction
projects at the following park locations:
