DLNR Holds Information Meeting On
Hana Boat Ramp Repair Project

HANA, HAWAII – The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) invites the public to attend an information meeting about its project to repair the Hana Boat ramp revetment and construct a new loading dock. The meeting will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 18. The meeting will be held at Helene Hall, at Hana Bay.

“We are planning to repair and/or replace the existing rock revetment and pavement area due to the poor condition. Additionally, a new loading dock and accessible ramp will be included in the project,” said Peter Young, DLNR chairperson.

This project is currently in the preliminary design stage by DLNR’s consultant firm Shigemura, Lau, Sakanashi, Higuchi and Associates, Inc.

“These improvements are part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration’s ongoing efforts to upgrade our state small boat harbors and to ensure accessibility, safety, and comfort of all residents and visitors who use the boating facilities,” said DLNR chairperson Peter Young.

Any person requiring special assistance (i.e. large print material, sign language interpreters etc.) is asked to contact Ed Underwood in Honolulu at (808) 587-1967 or Miles Lopes on Maui at (808) 243-5818.
