O'ahu Park Hours Switch To Summer Schedule


HONOLULU — Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) announces that beginning Sunday, April 1, 2007, entrance gates to seven O‘ahu state parks will close one hour later according to its summer schedule, at 7:45 p.m. every day. Park hours will be 7 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. and signs are posted with these times.

“Due to longer daylight hours, we will extend park use time and will close the following parks nightly at 7:45 p.m.,” said DLNR chairperson Peter Young.

The summer schedule will affect these parks only:

1. Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area, ‘Aiea
2. Malaekahana State Recreation Area, Kahuku
3. Pu‘u ‘Ualaka‘a State Wayside, Makiki
4. Sand Island State Recreation Area, Honolulu
5. Wa‘ahila Ridge State Recreation Area, Honolulu
6. Wahiawa Freshwater State Recreation Area, Wahiawa
7. Ka Iwi State Wilderness Area, Honolulu
