DLNR Holds Information Meeting On
Pohoiki Ramp Improvements

PAHOA, HAWAI‘I – The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) invites the public to participate in an information meeting about the Pohoiki boat ramp and loading dock replacement project, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 9. The meeting will be held at Pahoa High School cafeteria, 15-3038 Puna Road.

“As part of the Lingle-Aiona Administration’s ongoing efforts to upgrade our small boat harbors statewide, we are planning to replace the existing Pohoiki boat ramp and loading dock due to their poor condition,” said Laura H. Thielen, DLNR chairperson. “These improvements will ensure accessibility, safety and comfort for residents and visitors who use this boating facility.”

The Pohoiki boat ramp and loading dock replacement project is currently in the final design and permitting stage by DLNR’s consultant firm Wilson Okamoto Corporation.
