The Christmas Season is upon us, which means decorating the home with lights, the setting up of the tree and, of course, fireworks!

• Maintain situational awareness as you maneuver the ladder to set up the Christmas lights on the exterior of your home.
  
• Keeping your tree hydrated will prevent drying conditions and eventually mitigate any fire problems.
  
• Do not overload your outlets. Use appropriate powerstrips.
  
• The possession and setting off of aerial fireworks are illegal. It is recommended that you view aerial fireworks display that are put on by professionals.
  
• The setting off of sparklers, poppers, and other fireworks should be under close adult supervision. Keep a bucket of water nearby to douse spent material.
