Fire Prevention

The fire prevention program mainly consists of the Smokey Bear Campaign. Smokey makes numerous appearances throughout the State, at local fairs, exhibits, shopping malls, and classrooms. He teams up with all the fire agencies statewide during the year, especially during Fire Prevention Week. Smokey teams up with Sparky the Fire Dog as they lead the fight in fire prevention! Visit Smokey's homepage at www.smokeybear.com.

The Division of Forestry and Wildlife has numerous brochures in helping the public be fire-wise and fire-safe around their homes and property. Several brochures are also written and available in Spanish and in two Pilipino dialects, Visayan and Ilocano. Contact your local DOFAW office for further information.
