Overview of Acrobat Access View Plug-in and
Acrobat Access Plug-in for the Visually Impaired
The Adobe Acrobat Access View plug-in for Adobe Acrobat 3.0x viewers and the Acrobat Access 4.0 plug-in for Acrobat 4.0 viewers help visually impaired users read PDF files on-screen. After clicking on one of the two following links, the download should begin and the plug-in will be saved in the location you have preselected for downloads in your browser settings.

The Acrobat Access View plug-in for Acrobat 3.0x can be used with Acrobat Exchange 3.0x or Acrobat Reader 3.0x in Windows 3.1x, Windows 95, and Windows NT 4.0. Download the file from Adobe at:

The Acrobat Access 4.0x plug-in for Acrobat 4.0x can be used with Acrobat 4.0x or Acrobat Reader 4.0x in Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 2000. The Acrobat Access 4.0x plug-in is available from Adobe at:

The Access View and Acrobat Access plug-ins display PDF files in a format useful for the visually impaired by presenting the files' textual content in a separate window. The text window displays the text in an approximated reading order, displays multi-column text in a single column, and straightens non-horizontal text. Standard Acrobat features, such as hypertext links, notes, bookmarks, sounds, and movies, are available in the Access View window.

For more detailed information, refer to the Access.txt or AccessReadMe.txt file included with each plug-in. You can also find information about the Acrobat Access plug-in and related PDF-to-text and PDF-to-HTML conversion technologies at:
