Informal Opinions of the Attorney General
Advice and counsel given to agency officers and employees
by the Attorney General under section
28-4, Hawaii Revised Statutes, are protected from disclosure by
the attorney-client privilege
recognized under two UIPA exceptions. Formal opinions issued by
the Attorney General under
section 28-3, Hawaii Revised Statutes, must be filed with the Lieutenant
Governor and be made
available for public inspection and copying.
