Opinion Letter No. 94-01
March 11, 1994
Supplemental Homicide Reports Should Be Disclosed
The OIP found that Supplemental Homicide Reports (Reports)
prepared by the police departments of
each county and submitted to the Attorney General do not contain
any individually identifiable
information about victims or offenders. Disclosure of the Reports
also would not threaten any law
enforcement activity. Thus, the Reports are not protected by any
of the UIPA exceptions to
disclosure, and they should be made available for public inspection
and copying upon request.
