This captivating exhibition showcased the work of recipients of the prestigious Individual Artist Fellowship that is awarded by the Hawai‘i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts every two years. The Individual Artist Fellowship recognizes accomplishments in the visual and performing arts. The first fellowship was presented in 1995 and since then, 53 artists have received this honor that is determined through peer review. Fellows demonstrate significant contributions to their discipline and are distinguished for their creativity and innovation in their field as well as their professional development and growth. This exhibit featured selected works from Hi‘iakaikapoliopele: Visual Stories by Contemporary Native Hawaiian Artists, an invitational exhibition organized by Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Fall 2009, with partial support from the County of Maui and Kauahea Inc. 47th Annual Hawai‘i Regional Scholastic Art Awards 2010
February 5 - April 3, 2010

An exhibition of the most outstanding art work from hundreds of Hawai‘i students, in grades 7-12, throughout the islands. The exhibit featured the regional Scholastic Art Gold Key Awards and Silver Key Awards finalists from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Program, the longest running and most prestigious student arts recognition program in the United States.
