PURPOSE

he Individual Artist Fellowship Program was establish by the State Legislature of Hawai`i in 1993 to encourage artists to continue to live and work in Hawai`i and to reaffirm the importance of their contribution to the culture and economy of the State of Hawai`i.
 

PROGRAM SERVICES
The SFCA provides stipends through its Individual Artist Fellowship Program to recognize and honor exceptionally talented visual and performing artists of Hawai`i for their outstanding work and commitment in the arts, and to enable these artists to further their artistic goals.
To qualify for a fellowship an applicant must:

Each artist who receives an SFCA Individual Artist Fellowship is required to hold an exhibition or give a performance for the benefit of the people of Hawai`i.
 

INDIVIDUAL ARTIST FELLOWSHIPS
The upcoming SFCA Individual Artist Fellowships Program is temporarily suspended since the SFCA currently does not have a person serving as the Individual Artist Fellowships Coordinator. Guidelines and Applications are normally available in February at the SFCA office. Applications normally must be received by the State Foundation by April. For more information call 586-0300.

The SFCA Individual Artist Fellowship Program presented its first awards (visual arts and crafts) in 1995. Artists who have received an Individual Artist Fellowship are listed in Individual Artist Fellowships Awarded.
 

INDIVIDUAL ARTIST REGISTRY

The Individual Artist Fellowship Program manages an artist registry as a public information service. Anyone engaging in the arts who wishes to be included in this public registry may complete the form and return it to the SFCA, ATTN: Individual Artist Registry, 44 Merchant St., Honolulu, HI 96813.
