Call
for Fashion Designers. The
Hawai‘i
State Foundation on Culture and
the Arts will celebrate
Hawai‘i
Fashion Month (HFM) with
a runway show of bridal and
formalwear on First Friday,
October 4, 2013 at the Hawai‘i
State Art Museum. Eight designers,
both established and emerging,
will be selected by a panel to
participate in this
free-to-the-public event. An
audience of 800 is expected.
Selected designers will receive an
honorarium of $50, access to
high-resolution images of their
creations, and opportunities for
media coverage and exposure via
HFM's media partners. No entry fee
is required. Entry
deadline: postmarked by JUNE 26,
2013. Deadline for drop-off
entries: JUNE 28, 2013 by 4:00

Artist-in-Residence Studio (A.I.R.
Studio) in Paducah, Kentucky is
accepting applications from visual
artists, writers and composers for
its 2013-14 program year. The
program welcomes self-motivated,
focused artists working in a range
of traditional and non-traditional
media.The duration of the
residency is two weeks to three
months. Collaborative artists and
emerging artists are encouraged to
apply. Applicants must be 21 years
of age or older. The residency
affords the artist time and space
for focused, independent studio
work, the development of new ideas
and experimentation. A.I.R. Studio
also features gallery space for
exhibiting work during the
residency. Opportunities to work
in collaboration with other
artists and galleries in the
Paducah community are often
available.Visiting artists may
also conduct workshops, for the
public, during their residency.
The studio space and living
quarters are handicap accessible.
The studio area features a large,
open workspace and is not media
specific. Accommodations may be
made upon request for residents
requiring access to specific
studio equipment. Living quarters
include a sleeping area,
kitchenette, and bathroom. The
space is snug but large enough to
accommodate a couple. Applications
accepting on an ongoing basis.

The French-American Jazz
Exchange (FAJE) is a
partnership of the French-American
Cultural Exchange and Mid Atlantic
Arts Foundation (MAAF) designed to
foster creative and professional
development of jazz artists from
France and the United States
through support for collaborative
projects. MAAF offers free
webinars to assist potential grant
applicants: April 10, 2:00-3:30
p.m. EST, register and April 30,
2:00-3:30 p.m. EST. For more

Summer Stipends support
individuals pursuing advanced
research that is of value to
humanities scholars, general
audiences, or both. Recipients
usually produce articles,
monographs, books, digital
materials, archaeological site
reports, translations, editions,
or other scholarly resources.
Summer Stipends support continuous
full-time work on a humanities
project for a period of two
months. Awards to individual
scholars. Organizations are
ineligible to apply. Application
deadline: SEPT. 26, 2013,
for projects beginning May 2014.
