Federal/State Income Tax Joint E-filing (JELF)

E-Filing for Individuals and Sole Proprietors

The state of Hawaii is a proud participant in the Federal/State Income Tax Joint E-filing Program. Two Individual Income Tax Forms, the N11 and N15, are currently eligible for filing through this program.

You may use a tax professional to file both your federal and state returns, or you may file electronically using your personal computer and an online service provider.

Hawaii will accept State-Only returns for Forms N-11 and N-15 net income tax returns. This method of filing enables a State tax return to be filed electronically and separately through the Fed/State system.

Looking for a tax professional? Visit the IRS e-file Providers web site. Be sure to verify that the provider can file Hawaii returns electronically.
